Dancing With Cats, etc

My friend Grant Morgan apparently has researched the topic of "Feline Creative Intelligence" and what I thought was simply a crazy book about painting cats goes much deeper. Dancing With Cats is another book and art/dance/fitness movement that is sweeping the nation (and by nation I mean middle aged unmarried women with no kids). I can't even start to describe how I feel about this right now, so I'm going to try to supply the resources you need to make an informed decision of your own.

This link will familiarize you with everything Dancing With Cats. Check out the Feline Dance Classes link, and look for the streaming video segment. Take your time there and view as many of the pages as you can.

If you're not already freaked out enough, you can check out a few other gems I found...

Cat Flexing - The Catlover's Guide to Weight Training, Aerobics, & Stretching

First of all, does anybody actually wear clothes like that to work out? Maybe only people that use animals as weights. Second, what does somebody do that needs to increase the weight? Do they go with bigger cats? Bobcats, cougars, cheetahs, then maybe even lions and tigers for the serious body builders?

Psycho Kitty? - Understanding Your Cat's "Crazy" Behavior
http://www.tenspeed.com/catalog/all/item.php3?id=1833

Crap, that cat does look Psycho. Look at the little thing's eyes just about to pop out of it's tiny head.

There's even another book about cats that paint (in response to humans using cats as canvases they have been inspired to do some painting themselves).

Why Cats Paint - A Theory of Feline Aesthetics

I've really only scratched the surface here. If you think the content in the books above is funny, gross, or just scarry and you want to see more, you're in luck. Ten Speed Press has published numbers of books that are so offensive (but really funny) I can't even post them on my blog. You can check out their website to see what I'm talking about.

This was my last blog on the topic of cats, so please take this opportunity to make some comments before I move onto something new. I know you have something to say.

Enjoy!

No, not funny. Tragic perhaps. Or just plain sick.

But then, does anybody remember the old SNL skit: "Toonces the Driving Cat"? Man, that kitten had style.
