Jon Stewart needs to be a guest on Dennis Miller...we'd see how smart he isn't then. Maybe if any other network besides Comedy Central would pick up his show I could take his political rhetoric a bit more seriously. It's mostly hype, propaganda, and just plain "moment of zen" garbage.
(MDP, I still think you're the smartest one in all the land. I would copy calculus homework from you any day.)
(Grant, you're smart too...but trust me...I know calculus isn't your thing.)

Propaganda? Maybe in the sense of exposing the mass media for what it really is - static. How can you take shots at the media from any other station than Comedy Central? CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, FOXNEWS (sick), would all be too offended to keep the show. Stewart does not attack the Dems or the GOP; it is the media that he is after. You can only pull that off if your lead-in show involves poorly animated kids or talking puppets.
John Stewart makes fun of both the media and whoever is in power. He took a knock at Clinton on the eve of the election. The Republicans are in charge, and it is the job of satirists, like Stewart, to keep an eye on those in leadership, or control. Simply because you disagree with him, doesn't make his stuff 'propoganda'. And PS he went to the College of William and Mary, a good sign that he's not lacking in the brains department.
